Pixelmon is a mod created by the Pixelmon Team. The mod adds various Pokémon to the game, inspired from the Pokémon video games. It was discontinued with the downloads retracted after a request from The Pokémon Company[1] on July 13th, 2017. A petition on Change.org for the mod to be restored reached over 13,000 supporters[2]. The mod generated controversy for including DRM[3][4][5] and for issuing a copyright takedown notice against a video news report describing this DRM on the grounds that it showed a small excerpt of the code[6][7].
