Owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company, this ornately restored 1926 movie palace was part of real estate developer Charles E. Toberman and showman Sid Grauman's original Hollywood theater district (along with the neighboring Chinese and Egyptian theaters). Now used primarily to host premieres and special runs of Disney films, the El Capitan is bordered by a Disney store and soda.

Located across the street from the theatre at Hollywood and Highland (1755 N Highland Ave, Hollywood, CA 90028).

The El Capitan Theatre will do a partial validation for the cost of your parking if you park at the Hollywood & Highland Center, directly across the street from the theatre.
Please bring your parking stub from the Hollywood & Highland Center to the theatre to have it validated.
AS OF JANUARY 1, 2019 - PARKING RATE INCREASE:

Parking rates at the Hollywood & Highland Center are $3.00 for up to 4 hours with validation from the El Capitan Theatre; $2.00 for every 20 minutes thereafter. The daily maximum is $17.00. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 2 AM parking is a flat rate of $17.00 upon entry, no validation will be accepted. The parking structure is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, excluding Special Events.

Where To Park For El Capitan Theaters

Exit the southbound 101 Freeway at Highland Avenue (Hollywood Bowl Exit). Continue south on Highland Avenue to Johnny Grant Way. Turn right at Johnny Grant Way and proceed into the underground parking structure, just south of the Loews Hollywood Hotel.
Coming from the West (Beverly Hills)

Take La Brea north to Franklin. Continue east (to the right) on Franklin Avenue to Highland Avenue. Turn right onto Highland Avenue and continue to Johnny Grant Way. Turn right at Johnny Grant Way and proceed into the underground parking structure, just south of the Loews Hollywood Hotel.
Coming from the East (Orange County/ Downtown Los Angeles)

Going north on the 101 Freeway, exit Highland Avenue (Hollywood Bowl Exit). Keep right at fork in off-ramp (NOTE: SHARP TURN) Stay right onto Odin Street. Turn left on Highland Avenue. Turn right at Johnny Grant Way and proceed into the underground parking structure, just south of the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

Where To Park For El Capitan Theater Los Angeles

For your convenience, public transportation options are available when visiting the El Capitan Theatre.
A Metro Red Line subway station is located across the street from the El Capitan Theatre in the Hollywood and Highland Entertainment Complex. Red Line base fares are $1.75 for each one-way trip. The Red Line runs every 10-20 minutes between 4:30 AM and 1:20 AM even on weekends. Parking is available at most stations along the Red Line. Metrolink tickets can be purchased via the Metrolink App or at Ticket Vending Machines and include free transfers to Metro rail. The app sells all Metrolink ticket types and provides the quickest and easiest way to get onboard.
