- Regeneron ISEF The Next Generation of STEM Leaders. Every year, tens of millions of students participate in science fairs around the globe but only about 1,800 earn the right to compete for nearly $5 million awards bestowed each May at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
- For a high school student, one has to show advance level of creative thinking, ideas and science knowledge in order to write effective high school science fair projects. Everybody can write but writing something that show writers creative streak and out of the box thinking capability is a difficult thing but success is assured in the end.
- High School Science Fair Ideas. High school science fair projects can be about more than a grade. Winning a high school science fair can net some nice cash prizes, scholarships, and college/career opportunities. While it's fine for an elementary or middle school project to take hours or a weekend to complete, most high school projects run longer.
The Indian River Regional Science & Engineering Fair (IRRSEF) program has been the catalyst for developing confidence and critical thinking skills in Indian River County students (K-12th grades) since 1992. This evidence-based program reinforces math, reading, and writing skills through scientific research and discovery. Through the process of exploration and imagination children expand their academic potential.
School based fairs take place in November and December. The top finalist or each school advance to the IRRSEF to compete for over $1 million dollars in college scholarships and academic awards.
The IRRSEF takes place the last Saturday in the month of January. More than 200 local volunteers, professionals and research scientists mentor students and review science projects.
From the IRRSEF, 20 middle and high school projects (6th – 12th) are selected to advance to the State of Florida Science & Engineering Fair. One additional project is selected to advance to the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair.
